Kunizakaï

Collaboration with Régis Feugère
Series of 5 postcards, limited, numbered and signed, edition of 100
Production: CarréRotondes / CNA

“Kunizakaï” means “threshold”, “limit” or “frontier” in Japanese. In this piece, nocturnal exploration evolves on the fringes of urban areas, these disturbing “in-between” zones that one must cross, facing one’s fears. Giving oneself a chance to move forward in the hope of making headway presupposes abandoning one’s convictions so as to confront the unknown. The uninviting darkness rises as an obstacle. The streets are deserted, the façades are blank, and the vegetation is uncanny. The present is held in suspension, as uncertain as the future, as if everything could take an unexpected turn.
